Thanks to an all-in-one solution from track-and-trace specialist Orditool, DS Transport achieves an enormous efficiency gain: time it can spend on its service and on transparent communication with its customers.
As a service provider, DS Transport specialises in the distribution of mainly packaged pallet goods and larger parcels. Originally from Brussels, the firm is active throughout the country and has a fleet of some forty trucks and a team of experienced drivers that it puts at the disposal of national and international customers.

David Allaert is referring first of all to the solutions the firm uses from Orditool, a product portfolio of OpenICT. Thanks to the Orditrack software and the digiDL system, with which all trucks have been equipped, DS Transport can locate its fleet at any time.
“The dashboard shows us the real-time location of every truck and lets us consult historical data. That way we always know when a driver has reached his destination, when deliveries have taken place, how long a driver was stuck in traffic… We can report those insights straight back to the customer, which greatly improves the transparency of our cooperation and the quality of our service. Clear communication is crucial, because every day brings unforeseen circumstances on the road.”
Efficiency
DS Transport also uses Orditach, which in combination with the digiDL system makes it possible to read out the tachographs automatically and remotely. In the past an employee had to track down trucks all over the country to read the tachograph manually on site. That was an impossible task.
“Then we brought in Orditool and the efficiency gain was enormous. With a view to the further growth and professionalisation of DS Transport, this investment was decisive. The time we save we can now invest in our service. On top of that, the driving and rest time data in Orditach goes straight to the social secretariat. Payroll processing is a great deal faster and error-free too.”
